Boat

I've worked on this on & off since the summer.  Same subject different seasons.  I'd like your opinion on this image, I tend to favor #1, but tried the sepia effect on the same image, just thought the color was better.

Marie, I love the quality of light in the top one...October. Not crazy about the sepia one, either. For some reason, this image doesn't lend itself to sepia. Hope this helps.

tho I normally like the sepia effect I don't think it does this one justice.  I love the color... but all your work is wonderful!

The first is my favorite.  I prefer full color in an image, and using the fall trees makes this a must do in color.  Having your subject in white, really makes it stand out.  The sepia toning mutes that, and really lessens the impact of your subject.  The composition is great the way the fence takes you through the photograph.  The only suggestion I could make on this, would be to time it when the sun is low casting a warm glow over this patch of the land.

I like number one best - probably because there is more colour in that one - really like the sepia one too though LOL Laine xxx

I go for #1 too! I love all the different colours in it and the boat just stands out amongst them! Great shot, it needs no special effects! Jeannette xx

I like number 1 the best but I do like the sepia tone and the green of number 3 as well!  Love, Shelly

No. 1 I like the light blue shadow on the boat and fence as well as the brilliant crimson leaves.     It just has everything for a color photo.    The sepia just does not have the rustic subject matter to make it work I believe.    No. 2 during mid day does not have have the morning hues.      mark

I agree with the coment about the light on the top one. The light is reflected off the tips of the flowers and vegitation and really highlights the background. It is muted in the sepia tone shot and does not come through at all.
