I entered both photos in a New Rochelle Art Show I received an Honorable Mention
ribbon. I found out yesterday that I would have received an award if I had displayed
it in a larger mat & frame. The Photos are 8X10 & frame was 11X14. So next time,
I know better. They are on display at the New Rochelle Public Library now thru
mid October, if anyone is interested(Library hours only)
Can you guess which one won?

Framing Tutorial
There are many ways to frame you photo. This is how I do it. I use the canvas resize
option. Nancy asked me how I frame my photos, this is one way.
I use Photoshop CS but this was done in Photoshop Elements for Nancy.
1. Open an image that you want to frame.
In your tool palette make sure you have the color you want in the Background as
your border. In this case I will start off with white as the inside border & the outside
border will be red.
Make sure you start with the size that you want to post. By going to image/resize
once you have the size, now with the color selected in the background on the tool palette. I am using WHITE.
2. Go Image/resize/canvas size increase the number by the size of the trim you want.
example width is 5.931 & Height is 3.931 So I just increase this a little for a thin line framing the photo, to width 6.031 & H- 4.031 hit OK
3. Now, I change the background color to red for the larger border.
go to image/resize/canvas size & increase numbers from W-6.028 H- 4.028
to W-6.328 & H- 4.328 HIT OK
email me if you have any questions, my alerts have not been working.

Grunge Effect tutorial
Dubtastic is a great site for grunge effects. You may find brushes here. There also
might be tutorials. Explore this site. There is also another site
http://veredgf.fredfarm.com/vbrush/main.html
You will find many vbrushes here & tutorials on how to make a vbrush. This site is
down at the moment, but you can try it later or tomorrow. All the steps below I used
different blending modes, so you will have the play, until you find the look you want.

My new project
As many of you have noticed I've been trying new ways to present an image. Below
shows the 2 images I used to create the last image. The 2nd is my image & the 1st
I snagged off the internet to create a grunge effect. My final image is formed using
layers & blending modes in Photoshop.

Boat
I've worked on this on & off since the summer. Same subject different seasons. I'd like your opinion on this image, I tend to favor #1, but tried the sepia effect on the same image, just thought the color was better.
